West Side Story in Copenhagen

December 2022 sees Tim returning to the Royal Danish Theatre, this time for eight performances of Bernstein’s masterpiece, in a new production by Thomas Bendixen.

Hindemith’s Cardillac in Warsaw

After many postponements due to the pandemic, Cardillac opened at Polish National Opera on 25th June 2021. Tim conducts a spectacular new production by Mariusz Treliński, starring Tomasz Konieczny in the title role.

Nomination for Street Scene DVD

The BelAir Classiques DVD of Street Scene, recorded at the Teatro Real in 2018, has been nominated for an International Opera Award for best recording. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in London in May. Recent critical praise for the recording includes a ‘Diamant’ from Opéra Magazine.

Street Scene on DVD and Blu-ray

Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, recorded in Madrid in 2018, has been released on BelAir Classiques. Tim conducts the orchestra and choruses of the Teatro Real, and a large international cast. Details can be found under recordings.

Blixen in Copenhagen

In November 2019 Tim gave the premiere of a new ballet by Gregory Dean with the Royal Danish Ballet and Orchestra. Set to new arrangements of Debussy’s piano music, the piece tells the story of the life of Danish author Karen Blixen.

Gluck in Cape Town

Cape Town Opera’s new production of Orphée et Eurydice will open on 3rd September, with Tim conducting. The cast includes exciting young mezzo Fleur Barron, and the production is directed by Matthew Wild, CTO’s Artistic Director.

Street Scene on Mezzo TV

On 16th February 2018 Street Scene was broadcast live from the Teatro Real on Mezzo TV. This gave viewers in over 60 countries the opportunity to see the critically-aclaimed production, which Tim has been conducting.

Mandela Trilogy in Dubai and Hong Kong

Tim is once again at the helm of Cape Town Opera when they travel to Dubai Opera House and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in October 2017, presenting their celebration of the life of Nelson Mandela. In Hong Kong the piece will be the closing event of the Vibrant Africa Festival.

The Flying Dutchman in the Cape

August 2017 sees Tim conducting Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer at the Artscape Opera House, in a new production for Cape Town Opera by Artistic Director Matthew Wild. With a cast of international soloists, the mighty Cape Town Opera chorus, and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, the production is part of the Grand Masters series.
